Zeekr opened its order books in France on 2 April 2026. The Geely group’s premium electric brand arrived with four models on the price list, a first dealership in the south-east of the country, and a delivery schedule spread over several months. This arrival came during a particularly busy year for the French market, with several premium or Chinese brands setting up the same year. This guide sets out the full timeline, from the first model the network unveiled to the dealer network’s growth since.
When did Zeekr start selling cars in France?
The table below gathers the launch details by model, as of the date orders opened.
| Model | Orders opened | Launch price | First deliveries announced |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zeekr X | 2 April 2026 | from €37,990 | May 2026 |
| Zeekr 7X | 2 April 2026 | from €52,990 | May 2026 |
| Zeekr 7GT | 2 April 2026 | from €45,990 | July 2026 |
| Zeekr 001 | 2 April 2026 | from €59,990 | July 2026 |
These figures correspond to the launch entry prices, before options and before any financing offer. The delivery schedule split into two groups of models: the X and the 7X, already further along in production, reached customers first, while the 7GT and the 001 followed a few months later.
Four models on the price list from day one
The X sits at the entry point of the range, as a compact crossover. The 7X and the 7GT sit on larger SUV and electric estate bodies, aimed at family use, while the 001 rounds out the range as a large premium estate. A fifth model, the 9X, joined the European range a few months after the French launch, on a segment positioned even higher. Each of these cars targets a different kind of buyer: a compact crossover for everyday city and suburban driving, a family SUV built around boot space and rear-seat room, and two lower, longer estate-shaped models aimed at drivers who want a distinctive silhouette without stepping up to a larger SUV. The differences in size, range and equipment between these cars justify comparing them model by model rather than choosing on launch price alone: our guide Zeekr X, 7X or 001: which model to choose breaks down the range, charging and budget differences between these versions.
Why was the French arrival announced months before sales started?
The February 2026 announcement: a timetable for the second quarter
As early as February 2026, Zeekr France’s director had already said the brand was aiming for a second-quarter launch, with an initial target of twenty-five to thirty points of sale for the year. This early announcement gave the distribution network time to come together before orders actually opened.
2 April 2026, the effective opening of orders
The timetable announced in February was confirmed in early April: orders opened on 2 April 2026, with the four models already mentioned and a first dealership in Aix-en-Provence. The two-month gap between the announcement and the actual launch reflects the time needed to finalise the first distribution contracts and prepare launch stock. The same year, other Chinese or premium manufacturers also set up in the country, a context that explains why every entering brand sought to communicate early on its timetable to secure a place among the dealer groups available.
Where does the Zeekr brand come from?
Zeekr belongs to the Chinese Geely group, which also owns Volvo and Polestar. The brand made its European debut in 2023, before gradually extending its presence across the rest of the continent. Its cars are built on an in-house electric architecture, shared with other models in the group, aimed at fast charging times and strong energy density for the category. Its positioning targets a customer base closer to that of XPeng or Tesla, on an accessible premium segment, distinct from the more established worlds of Volvo or Polestar. Zeekr chose to develop its French commercial network independently, without relying on the dealerships already in place for those two group brands. At a European level, the brand claimed a 200% year-on-year rise in deliveries by the time it reached the Paris Motor Show in October 2026. Our full brand overview, Zeekr: the brand and its French model range, details this place within Geely’s structure.
How has the dealer network grown since launch?
The first dealerships, from Aix-en-Provence to the Paris region
After opening in Aix-en-Provence, the network expanded into other regions over the year, bringing in dealer groups already experienced with related brands. In the Paris region, two addresses in the Val-d’Oise now allow buyers to purchase and test-drive the cars, detailed in our guide to Zeekr dealerships in France and our guide to test-driving a Zeekr in Paris.
A target raised for 2027
Driven by stronger-than-expected dealer interest, Zeekr revised its target upward during the year: the brand now aims for forty points of sale by the end of 2026, then seventy by the end of 2027, with around a hundred service sites. Zeekr France’s management also presented a target of 3,500 registrations by 2027, a volume it described as comparable to what XPeng achieved in its second year in the country. That comparison matters for buyers too: a brand still building out its network grows its after-sales coverage at the same pace, so a dealership that only handles sales today may add servicing within the following year.
What has followed the first months on sale?
On 29 July 2026, Zeekr unveiled its fifth model for Europe, the 9X, a large SUV combining a hybrid powertrain with a plug-in battery. A first reservation phase opened on 13 August, followed by the announcement of pricing in early September. The latest generation of the 7GT also achieved the best possible result in Euro NCAP safety assessments carried out under the new 2026 protocols, across every criterion tested.
On 12 October 2026, Zeekr made its debut at the Paris Motor Show, presenting its full range alongside the 9X and confirming the pace of its rollout since orders opened in April. The steps worth knowing before placing an order, from choosing a dealership to the paperwork required, are set out in our guide to buying a Zeekr in France.
Several months after launch, what should buyers check before ordering?
The timetable announced in February 2026 described a starting point, not a fixed state. A few months on, the range has grown with the 9X, the network now reaches well beyond the original Aix-en-Provence dealership, and delivery times have moved closer to those of an established market. Before signing, it is still worth checking three things with the chosen dealership: the real delivery time for the version and colour wanted, which can vary between dealers depending on stock; the up-to-date list of equipment included in the list price, which can change from one year to the next; and after-sales coverage in the buyer’s area, a point that matters all the more since some dealers focus on sales without servicing cars on site. Checking the dealer map before a visit helps avoid a trip to a site that does not yet offer that service.
